CalWORKs Families Can Receive Up to Two Years of Free Child Care
As of July 1, 2025, CalWORKs cash aid customers may be eligible for up to 24 months of child care. See eligibility requirements and learn more here or call the Child Care Hotline at 877-244-5399.

Pregnancy Research Project
The PRO-Health research team at California State University, Long Beach, is studying the experiences of parents and their babies during pregnancy and after birth. CSU Dominguez Hills Study: Seeking Participants Who are Expecting Their First Child
Are you currently pregnant for the first time? You are invited to participate in a new research study at CSU Dominguez Hills focused on daily emotions and experience during pregnancy. MotherToBaby Study: Seeking Participants
MotherToBaby is currently enrolling pregnant women in an observational study to explore how asthma and its treatment affect pregnancy. All studies are conducted through phone interviews — no changes to your normal routine or travel required.

Stress and Wellness Survey for Teens
California teens ages of 12- to 17-years old are invited to take the Youth Mindful Awareness Program’s survey about their health and well-being. The survey takes about 10 minutes, and participants are eligible for a $10 gift card. Complete the survey here.

Join the LA County Youth Commission  
The Youth Commission assists the Board of Supervisors in improving L.A. County’s youth-facing departments, programs, and policies. They are seeking applicants who are at least 18 years old and have lived experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, probation, kinship care, and adoption.

Job Opportunities for Young Adults and Youths from Eaton Fire Area
As part of this year’s Youth@Work initiative, the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity is providing a minimum of 500 job opportunities to youth ages 14–24 who lived in or were displaced from communities impacted by the January 2025 Eaton Fire. Eligible youth include those who resided in evacuation zones or areas under evacuation warnings during the emergency. Interested youth can fill out the Eaton Fire Youth@Work Form for youth to get started.

Share Your Early Intervention Story (also in Spanish)
The Infant Development Association of California wants to hear from parents raising young children with developmental delays or disabilities. The purpose is to help advocate for early intervention services.

LAUSD Meals for Students

LA County Parks Food Programs (Spanish and Chinese)
LA County Parks’ Youth, Teen and Senior Program is providing meals for teens and seniors (60+ years old) and snacks for youth who are 17 and under. Find participating parks here.

Kitchen to Capital Culinary Workforce Program by The SoLa Foundation
Through June 10

This hands-on program offers real kitchen training, career-building skills, and an introduction to entrepreneurship in the food industry as well as a $1,300 stipend upon completion.

Help Me Grow LA Is Hiring Family Partners
Help Me Grow LA is looking for parents to work part-time as Family Partners in the San Gabriel Valley and the South L.A. and southeastern L.A. areas. Family Partners are parents of children with special needs who work in Public Health Clinic’s Wellness Communities and other locations. Learn more.

Earn Cash Back Through the California Fruit and Vegetable EBT Pilot Project
The California Fruit & Vegetable (CF&V) Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Pilot Project is back. Eligible CalFresh households will receive a dollar-for-dollar benefit match of up to $60 per month when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables at any participating retailer or farmers’ market. AAIMM Compassion Response Fund for African American Families Impacted by Pregnancy-Related Loss

Apply for a No-Cost Sidewalk Vending Cart
As part of the Department of Economic Opportunity’s Sidewalk Vending Cart Program, eligible vendors can receive a California Health Code–compliant food cart at no cost. Apply here.

Youth@Work
Youth@Work provides LA County youth with paid work experience, employment training, and support services to help prepare for future career pathways. Los Angeles County residents ages 14 to 24 who have the right to work in the United States are eligible to apply.

Renters facing eviction in SPAs 3, 6, 7, and 8 may be eligible for this Renters Protection & Homeless Prevention (RPHP) Program
The Whole Child is currently accepting applications for the Renters Protection & Homeless Prevention program from families living in SPA 7 and some additional areas in SPAs 3, 6, and 8 who have received a 3-day notice. This program provides funds to cover overdue rent and provides support services to help individuals and families stay safely housed and prevent homelessness. Learn more and apply.

STAR Tutoring
June 9 – August 6

Held at select L.A. County Library locations, this free group tutoring program helps young students improve their reading and math skills. All tutoring takes place at the library, and all materials are provided. Sign up here.

2025 Los Angeles Fires Research Study
Researchers from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign and the Climate Mental Health Network are seeking to better understand how the 2025 L.A. wildfires have affected students, families, and educators, and how schools and communities can support emotional wellbeing and recovery during and after disasters. Participants will receive a $50 Visa gift card for completing the study. Take the eligibility survey here.
