Home Visiting Partner Agencies

Anyone who delivers at a Welcome Baby hospital can receive free bedside support from a Welcome Baby Hospital Liaison. The Liaison shares community resources that can help the family, and she provides tips on breastfeeding, infant care and development, bonding and attachment, and maternal self-care. She also explains the Welcome Baby program and other home visiting options, if they are available. All are FREE.

Those who opt to participate in Welcome Baby receive five in-home visits over the next nine months (at a time and place of their choosing). Others, who might benefit from more extensive or more frequent home visits (for up to five years, in some cases), may choose to receive free services from one of the partner agencies below. These home visiting programs use either the Parents as Teachers (PAT) or Healthy Families America (HFA) model, both of which are nationally respected and have been proven effective in independent research studies. (Learn more about what’s available in L.A. County.)

Expecting families who do NOT plan to deliver at a Welcome Baby hospital may be eligible to receive free in-home support (during pregnancy and after) from one of these organizations that offer the HFA or PAT programs.
