Pregnancy Research Project
The PRO-Health research team at California State University, Long Beach, is studying the experiences of parents and their babies during pregnancy and after birth. CSU Dominguez Hills Study: Seeking Participants Who are Expecting Their First Child
Are you currently pregnant for the first time? You are invited to participate in a new research study at CSU Dominguez Hills focused on daily emotions and experience during pregnancy. MotherToBaby Study: Seeking Participants
MotherToBaby is currently enrolling pregnant women in an observational study to explore how asthma and its treatment affect pregnancy. All studies are conducted through phone interviews — no changes to your normal routine or travel required.

Participate in Research Study on Breast Milk
The Lundquist Institute is conducting a breast milk research study. Participants (who are currently breastfeeding) will conduct a 4-hour study visit and will receive a $100 gift card. Learn more here or contact MacKenzie Cervantes at breastmilk@lundquist.org or 310-974-9538.

Stress and Wellness Survey for Teens
California teens ages of 12- to 17-years old are invited to take the Youth Mindful Awareness Program’s survey about their health and well-being. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Participants are eligible for a $10 gift card. Complete the survey here.

Seeking Black/African American or Latina/Latinx Birthing People with Physical Disabilities to Participate in a Study
Black people and Latinxs/Latinas with physical disabilities have unique experiences during pregnancy. To learn about these unique experiences, Brandeis University is conducting a study to better understand how race and disability can affect pregnancy. If you are Black/African American and/or Latinx/Latina or Hispanic, have a physical disability, and have given birth in the last ten years, they’d like to interview you. Participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

Join the LA County Youth Commission  
The Youth Commission was established to assist the Board of Supervisors in leading transformative change in LA County’s youth facing departments, programs, and policies. They are seeking applicants who are at least 18 years old and have lived experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, probation, kinship care, and adoption.

Youth @ Work Program
The program is for ages 14 – 24 and will provide access to paid work-based learning, work readiness, personal enrichment training, academic and career development, and advanced career services.

The LA County Chief Sustainability Office is requesting community members to share their input on how to build a more sustainable LA County.

ESTEAM Summer Camp
June 16 – August 8

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation is offering an 8-week summer camp for youth ages 6 – 11. The camp focuses on Environment, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (ESTEAM). Find a participating park here.

SUN Bucks: Summer Food Program
SUN Bucks provides $40 per month for food for June, July and August 2024 ($120 total). Children who qualify for free or reduced school meals through a school meal application or an Alternative Income Form, or get CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled. No need to sign up.

Providence Community Health Worker Academy
Application Deadline: July 21

Providence partnered with Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science to create the Community Health Worker Academy. The CHW Academy is a workforce development program designed to create long-term job placements for CHW’s in hospital and clinical settings. This is a four-month, full-time paid internship that begins August 4, 2025. Apply here.

2025 Summer Adventures – Every Body Plays

As summer temperatures rise, the heat can become uncomfortable — and even dangerous. Find a cooling center using the locator and learn about other resources that can help you find relief from the heat.

The Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA and the YMCA of Metropolitan LA are providing grocery and essential product delivery services to families who are currently avoiding public spaces. Operation Healthy Hearts has a grocery delivery program. If you’re unable to leave your home and need groceries delivered, submit a request here.

Youth Sailing Camp in Marina del Rey

Youth Sailing Camps are back this summer for youth campers (11–17 years old) in Marina del Rey. Taught by LA County WATER Program Lifeguards, camp sessions are offered at the beginning and intermediate levels.  A swim test is required to participate. Learn more at beaches.lacounty.gov/waterprogram/

Job Opportunities for Young Adults and Youths from Eaton Fire Area
As part of this year’s Youth@Work initiative, the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity is providing a minimum of 500 job opportunities to youth ages 14–24 who lived in or were displaced from communities impacted by the January 2025 Eaton Fire. Eligible youth include those who resided in evacuation zones or areas under evacuation warnings during the emergency. Interested youth can fill out the Eaton Fire Youth@Work Form for youth to get started.
