Webinar: Strategies for Home Visiting Recruitment and Uptake
It may be the biggest challenge to enrolling families: most of them have never heard of home visiting. Unless they work in this field, have personally benefited from these services, or know someone who has, people generally respond with hesitation and resistance when offered free home visiting services. Call it fear of the unknown.
That’s why home visiting programs are continually exploring a range of creative strategies to help increase awareness and strengthen recruitment efforts.
Child Trends recently published an evidence review that examines current practices related to recruitment and uptake of home visiting services.
In a webinar LA Best Babies Network hosted on March 13, 2026 — for Welcome Baby Outreach Specialists and other staff of our network’s home visiting organizations and Welcome Baby hospitals — Child Trends’ Annie Davis Schoch and Kate Steber:
- Provided an overview of Child Trends’ recent evidence review on strategies to support home visiting recruitment and uptake
- Highlighted key findings from the project, including the most promising strategies they identified in their research
