Webinar: Promoting Immunizations Recommended for Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women
The coronavirus may be grabbing all the headlines, but flu season is still in full swing. The CDC reports that so far, 10,000 people have died and 180,000 people have been hospitalized this season in the U.S. because of the flu.
Of course, the flu shot is very important for pregnant women and children, but it’s not the only immunization they need.
In this webinar, Aizita Magaña from the L.A. County Department of Public Health’s Vaccine Preventable Disease Control Program discusses the immunizations recommended for pregnant women to help protect them and their babies from vaccine preventable diseases. She also outlines the benefits of immunizations for pregnant women and shares ways to improve communication with families about vaccines.
This webinar was recorded February 3, 2020, for Parent Coaches in the Welcome Baby program, which is part of the First 5 LA-funded Family Strengthening Network in Los Angeles County.
