Webinar: Factors That May Affect Milk Supply
Many birthing people worry about milk production and making sure their baby gets enough milk. These concerns are something that Hospital Liaisons in the Welcome Baby program commonly hear from families. Several factors and situations may affect milk supply, such as medication, nutrition, and health conditions.
In the webinar below, Judy Li, a registered dietitian and lactation consultant, talks about:
- Identifying different factors that may affect milk supply
- Recognizing how milk production works in the body
- Commonly asked questions from families regarding milk production
- Recognizing when to refer families to an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC)
LA Best Babies Network hosted this webinar on June 6, 2024, for Welcome Baby Hospital Liaisons and other staff of our network’s home visiting organizations and Welcome Baby hospitals.

After learning about the health and nutritional benefits of breast milk and breastfeeding, Judy knew she wanted to advance her career further by working in the lactation space as a lactation consultant.
