The purpose of this module, is to help home visitors understand what compassion fatigue looks like, identify if they are at risk or already experiencing compassion fatigue, as well as how to prevent and/or manage the condition.
Strategies for Home Visitor Safety
This module provides strategies for home visitor safety before, during, and after the home visit. By the end of this training, home visitors will be able to: Identify safety strategies that can be used before, during, and after the home visit. Recognize how to reduce tense situations, what to do in dangerous situations, and how to handle aggression. Recall safety tips regarding animals, disease, professional boundaries, parking and vehicle safety. Use technology to help remain safe.

Karen Farley, CWA Executive Director, shared the results from the “What If” Survey conducted last summer and fall, where many WIC staff, participants, partners and friends submitted ideas for how to make WIC even better.
