Home Visiting Day 2025: Highlights & Celebrations
This year, L.A. County celebrated the fourth annual Home Visiting Day on April 18, 2025. The theme, Supporting Parents, Nurturing Bonds: The Core of Home Visiting, truly came to life through the creativity and dedication of home visiting teams across the county.
Organizations and hospitals in the Family Strengthening Network, along with the families they serve, found unique and meaningful ways to celebrate — from heartfelt client testimonials and team photos/videos to fun and engaging activities like Easter egg hunts, family group connection events, team potlucks, and self-care tips for both staff and families. And to top it off, a home visitor in L.A. County received recognition during National Home Visiting Week (April 21-25).
And we were happy to see that lots of people used our social media toolkit to help spread the word about the incredible work home visitors do every day!
Here’s a roundup of this year’s Home Visiting Day highlights:
Maternal & Child Health Access shared a testimonial from a client and a carousel of pictures from their home visiting team. They also took time to honor the home visitors on their staff (Parent Coaches and RN’s who are part of the Welcome Baby program at California Hospital Medical Center).
Emanate Health – Queen of the Valley Hospital shared a group shot of their Welcome Baby staff and also created a fun dancing video.
Foothill Family posted a video slideshow of their home visiting staff, thanking them for their hard work. Wellnest held a potluck for their home visiting team and shared a group photo.
St. Mary Medical Center posted a video of their home visiting staff holding up words that represent home visiting. MemorialCare Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach shared a client testimonial story: “Being a first-time mom, this program helped me understand things from prenatal care to my baby’s development, postpartum tips, and more,” said Sophia. “It helped me ease into parenthood and provided me with emotional support and reassurance.”
Shields for Families held a Home Visiting Day Spring Celebration event for families, featuring an egg hunt, activity tables, story time, music and movement, food, and raffles. Families received baskets and bags filled with bottles, toys, and other activities for kids. Scroll through the slideshow to see these activities:

Proclamations
This year, the cities of Pomona and Long Beach joined the County of Los Angeles and issued official proclamations to celebrate the day. A big thank-you to the staff who submitted the paperwork and helped bring these proclamations to the attention of local officials. Your advocacy made this recognition possible!

National Home Visiting Week: Celebrating #HomeVisitingHeroes

The Institute for Family Support Professionals launched the inaugural National Home Visiting Week, taking place April 21–25, 2025. To celebrate, they announced Home Visitors of the Year — including one from L.A. County!
Five home visitors were honored for their dedication to the families they serve. Among the recipients is Jocelyn Martinez, a home visitor with the Healthy Families America program at All For Kids.
Jocelyn has been in the home visiting field for two years, following earlier work supporting children with autism. That experience, she said, inspired her to expand her reach and support families as a whole unit.
“I like the fact that the whole family is included,” Martinez said. “You’re not just helping the child — you’re helping everyone, including the parents and siblings, be on the same page. Home visiting brings the whole family together.”
Congratulations, Jocelyn! Learn more about her here.
