Webinar: How Home Visitors Can Support Families With Children With Developmental Delays
A recent study published in JAMA Pediatrics reports that only about a third of young children in the U.S. receive recommended screenings to catch developmental delays. But home visiting programs — like those in the First 5 LA-funded Family Strengthening Network in Los Angeles County — provide these screenings to all of the families they serve. It’s all free and conducted in the comfort of the family’s home.
As part of the extensive training Family Strengthening Network home visitors receive, LA Best Babies Network hosted a webinar on what home visitors should do if they or a parent suspects that a child has a developmental delay. Fran Goldfarb, Director of Community Education for USC / Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, conducted this webinar on May 14, 2018.
