2024 Home Visiting Yearbook
The National Home Visiting Resource Center (NHVRC) has released its 2024 Home Visiting Yearbook, a nationwide and state-by-state look at early childhood home visiting. It builds on past NHVRC publications to present an up-to-date look at home visiting in action.
This Yearbook presents the latest data from evidence-based and emerging home visiting models, state agencies, and the Administration for Children and Families, including:
- Data on who is being served by home visiting, including information from 17 evidence-based home visiting models and 11 emerging models that have not yet met federal standards of evidence
- Information from 2023 on where home visiting is operating and how many families and children could benefit from it
- Profiles of home visiting models, and updated Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program data tables
- A comparison of virtual and in-person home visiting activity
It also includes maternal and child health indicator data to offer insights into family well-being and the potential need for services. These data are broken up by state, and by race and ethnicity, to inform conversations about using home visiting to promote equity.
More than 280,000 families nationwide received home visiting services in 2023, over the course of more than 2.8 million home visits. Approximately 23% of these visits were provided virtually, down from nearly 44% the prior year.
