Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital, and City of Long Beach, Celebrate Five Years of Welcome Baby

“Families have been very receptive to the program,” says Lynnette Bello, Supervisor of the Welcome Baby program at MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. Indeed, we’ve heard several parents in Long Beach rave about Welcome Baby — here’s one mom and here’s another — and recently the city’s mayor joined the chorus of those who are singing the praises of this home visiting program.

To recognize Welcome Baby’s five-year anniversary at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Mayor Robert Garcia issued a special proclamation that highlights some of the program’s benefits for families — and for the whole community (see below).

Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital is one of 14 hospitals participating in the Welcome Baby program in Los Angeles County. If you’re pregnant and planning to deliver there, or at any of these participating South Bay hospitals, call now to enroll!

These hospitals work with partner home visiting agencies, including Families in Good Health (at St. Mary Medical Center), Children’s Institute, the Children’s Clinic, and Pacific Asian Counseling Services. Learn more about Welcome Baby and its home visiting partners in the First 5 LA-funded Family Strengthening Network.
