It’s the summit that is definitely happening.
On June 13, the First 5 LA Family Strengthening Network’s annual summit will convene over 500 home visiting pros at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood to share success stories about the families they serve in Los Angeles County — and to celebrate those achievements. Attendees will come from all over the county, representing 14 hospitals that offer the free Welcome Baby program and two dozen partner agencies that offer more extensive home visiting services (also free). In all, they represent the single largest home visiting investment in the country. (Learn more about the Family Strengthening Network here.)
In addition to keynote speeches and updates on county-wide health outcomes, the event will feature parents who are currently in these First 5 LA-funded programs. They will join their home visitors on a discussion panel to share their experiences.
The event is not open to the public, but there may be local media coverage, and attendees will be sharing photos and impressions that day using the hashtag #StrongerFamiliesLA. And, as we did here and here (and First 5 LA did here and here), we will provide a write-up with video in this blog shortly after the event.
In the meantime, check out this video, which includes clips we showed at the last summit:
